Igniting the Fire to Pay off These Student Loans πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

It’s been roughly one year since the end of my grace period, which marked the start of my student loan payments. With that said for each loan I have out (yes multiple loans from multiple places πŸ™) I’ve barely touched any of the principle. Interest has been eatin my money up like a pro football player at a buffet. The amount of debt I have boggles my mind every time I look at how much more I have to pay off. But this post isn’t about the slight depression I get everytime I see the amount of student debt I’m in. This is about the recent realization I had about my finances and how I can climb out of debt faster than the time I’m expected to.

After graduating from school I’ve been living extremely comfortably and going through the motions of everyday life. I work my 9 to 5 on weekdays, go home, workout/YouTube/Netflix/read and then go to sleep. My weekends I use to sleep, sometimes travel and explore Philly. Life is extremely comfortable and I’ve just realized that this comfort bothers me. Not because I don’t appreciate what I have but because I know I could be doing more. This goes for working harder on staying healthier, getting involved with my community/community events, building up a business and my building up my finances. All of those things I can control to become better at and will do from here on out.

In order to give myself a sense of urgency I have taken an oath to not return to Buffalo Wild Wings until my student loan and credit card debts are paid off in full. To some this may seem like a small sacrifice but to me this is HUGE. Life without Ultimate nachoes with chicken, Asian Zing boneless wings, with the basket of fries is going to be tough. But by doing this it motivates me to haul donk on all this debt I’ve collected.

Proper management of my finances has become a subject I’m going to focus on immensely. By finding more ways to increase my income/budget the money I currently make properly I can start achieving the goals I have for myself. By paying down my debts and having more money at my disposal I can have money to invest in to property or stock. I can start businesses or support start ups I believe will shape the future and make the world a better place. I can use that money to build stronger communities and give out scholarships to children who need them in order to go to school if they can’t afford to do so on their own.

I have all of these dreams of what I want to do but haven’t taken the action to get there because of comfort. This is why I made my actionsoverdreams blog. I want to use it as a tracker of my progress of obtaining these dreams. I also want to share any knowledge I learn along the way as I drift away from the normal routine I have set for myself. It’s also a challenge to get to return to Buffalo Wild Wings πŸ˜†.

My Happy Place

If you’ve read this far thanks for reading haha! Also what are some things you dream about that you want to start taking action towards that you have yet to do? Feel free to leave a comment I’d like to see where other people are at with their journeys.
